If you are using jackstands to elevate your car, you need to pull the starter to have the additional room necessary for the passenger header.

you can make it easier to get at some of the stuff up top by taking off the coil packs.

Very simple to pull the starter. It won't be easier to go through the top. You are on the right path, just pull the starter, 2 or 3 bolts.

Its been a while since I did a header install, but if I remember correctly, its usually easier to do the passenger header. If you have it high enough and the starter out, it usually just slides right in.

The few that I have done we did not have to take the starter out, but it was a bit of a squeeze. I would definatly take the passenger side coil pack off and the oil filter (might as well change oil while you are doing this). Other than that I have had to gring a bit off of the block on the drivers side before, but that was with the ebay headers, not sure what brands will require you to do that. Just be prepared for some cussing and scraping up your hands.

I had mine on jackstands about 21 inches off the floor. The only items I took off the passenger side was the coil packs, dipstick, AIR and EGR. The air and egr didn't go back on however. The header went in kind of like a rubics cude. a little turn here and there and then it popped in.

I had to trim about 2 inches off the intermediate of the catback to get it to fit right. My was too long (to far forward) too.

glad you got it all worked out. We all have those "thought we heard a leak" moments after headers Now cam it and it'll take formula 409 to get the grin off your face.

The passenger side header just slid right in on mine. Just have to have the car high enough. No starter removal required.
