need help with exhaust.
Hi everyone. I'm a new member here and I was woundering if you all could provide me with some helpful advice. I just recently bought a 2000 SS and I want to replace the stock exhaust. All I want is a very aggressive sound I don't care so much about performance. my last camaro was a 95' Z28 with a 80 series flowmaster that sounded great. Will a flowmaster on my SS sound good? thanks for any advice.

I have a 2000 SS with an 80s series muffler and I love the sound. it's quiet while coasting at low speeds, unlike some exhausts that sound too loud. you can hear my car driving down the street from inside the house, so it isn't too quiet. I love mine.

Just put a magnaflow on mine, very nice sound deep idle, and sweet roar at wot. I really love it, but it is quieter than my stock exhaust was...
If you want loud, either gmmg or slp loudmouth. gmmg sounds fantastic
check www.ls1sounds.com for sound clips

magnaflow here...sounds great. even better when you do the free ram air mod. the more air that flows in makes it a big diff.

exhaust
I have SLP loudmouth on mine. Yes it's loud, but it sounds great. I've gotten good comments from a wide range of people on the sound. It is definitely one of the louder systems out there, though. Not too bad at idle if the engine is running smooth.

thanks for the advice. is there anything i can do to the stock exhaust to make it louder. Just so i wouldn't have to spend $500 on a new exhaust.

a new exhaust is not only gonna be louder, but will help it breath better and give you better performance.

WOT = Wide Open Throttle.
I hope by no headers you mean stock manifolds. To make it sound deeper you gonna have to get headers and possibly a new muffler depending upon how loud ur catback is with the LM2 resonator. Loudmouth is an odd ball to me, its like a 50/50 split on popularity.

Just get a cut out. $120 for the cutout and electric motor, and walah! More power and awsome sound at the flip of a switch, and you have the quite sound of a stock exhaust when you need it - on long drives or when cops are around.

i like the idea of a cut out. it's cheap and it sounds like your got strainght headers and no muffler.

To the original poster, no. Your car will sound nothing like the LT1 with the Flowmaster 80. I had a FM 80 on my 01 TA and my good friend had a 95 TA with it. IMO it sounds pretty weak on the LS1. I'd look towards the Loudmouth 1 or a Borla catback.
