    With my 02 hawk..

I have a 2002 FireHawk. It has the SLP package. My question is, can I just put long tubes on it and use the y pipe on it or should I change it out?

You will not be able to use the y-pipe with LTs.

The tubes won't line up - I highly recommend getting a matching set for proper fitment and clearance. I have LT's, ORY and the "stock" SLP 2-1-2 exhaust and it sounds mean as hell. Had a different Y-pipe setup and had to change it to a Kooks Y for clearance and don't like the sound as much.

The Kooks has the best clearance (I've tried Kooks, Pacesetter and LSXtreme). Even though LSXtreme is no longer in business, they made the best sounding ORY- no rasp and very smooth. When I installed the tunnel brace mounted torque arm the LSXtreme y wouldn't fit so I tried the Pacesetter and it didn't fit at all against the LSXtreme headers. Found a used Kooks ORY on ebay, trimmed a half inch off the headers and it fit perfectly. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with Kooks headers and ORY or catted-y or go with the full length torque arm with my MWC 9" rear.

My Pacesetter slid right in place. No tweaking, bending, nada. Doesn't rattle on the floorboard either.

What headers do you have? That's the problem I had- wish the pacesetters would have fit up there! I found a local guy with a Pacesetter ORY he was going to trade me out for some old motorcycle parts and it wouldn't have cost me a dime!
