MSD coil packs for LS1
Has anyone tried the coil packs from MSD for the LS1 and if you have....is it worth it, or not too much of a differance?

Red & Dk Gray- 2002 WS6, '08 G8 GT
I have read several threads on people that have tried them. A few really liked them, but most agree that they're not enough to justify the price tag of those. Granted they would be a nice to have item, but $500+ for coils, not right now. I would have to see some impressive Dyno results from just plugs, MSD Super Conductor wires (or equivalent), and the MSD coil packs.
Jury is still out on that one!
$500 better spent on a nice cam & spring package!
My $.02

We were blowing the spark out with the stockers....went with the multiple spark MSD's and fixed that issue....other than that...no advantage to a slightly modded or sstock motor outside of engine "bling"...but when you start getting into a serious high performance engine they are a must....

We tried a .030 gap and still blew out a couple of cylinders above 6800rpm.....now granted I am running TR-6's...a step colder for the nitrous than the 55's....but....the MSD coils solved that....now I'm gonna open up some internet whoop ass....I swear the engine spools quicker with the MSD's...dont see it on the dyno....but ass dyno sez it's there....I will see how the new 402/cam/heads reacts....

I got a simple rule....give me something for free and you get a decal in the engine bay....give me more cowbell....I'll slap a cowbell decal in there somewhere.....no decals on the outside...that's rice

Yeah, Shaner is cool as hell man. I would call that guy up to get an update, and we will end up talking about 30 or 45 minutes about cars, his house he is tryin' to get, and hell towards the end of the conversation is when he would ask who he was talkin' too. I'd do business with that guy anyday. That reminds me, I need to ask him if he has gotten that core back yet.
