Metallic Clicking Noise when Changing Gears

Hi Guys,

I have an Automatic 2000 WS6 TA. It is about 7 years old now and has about 33K miles. For the last year or so, when I shift from Park to Reverse or Drive (or vice-versa) or when I shift from Drive to 1st, I get metal sounding clicking noises as the gears shift. Some days are worse than others. It also happens sometimes when I am sitting at a red light in the Drive gear and ease on the accelerator. The dealership looked at it and said that all seems normal and they cannot find anything to repair. But if it is normal, why didn't this noise happen since the day I bought the car? Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for your help.

i have the same sound in my SS from park to reverse, i think it's the aluminum driveshaft that "PINGS" i also had mine checked out and all is good. no leaks nothing wrong at all.

-if anyone else can shed some light please do.

Thanks for the reply. Has your SS made that noise since day one or is the noise something that occured later in its life?
