    magnaflow issue

so i got home from iraq and of course one of the first things i do is wrench on my ride. after installing the magnaflow cat back i find that the tips do not stick out an even amount on either side. tried tweaking it and retightening clamps but always seems that the drivers tip is 1-1.5 inches shorter. anyone have this problem or anyone that is a dealer able to swap the drivers tip for me. any help would be great.

What kind of catback is it? Single tips or dual/dual?

i got the kit with single tips. i measured it against what the manufacturer says is the proper size and its off over a half inch. have been trying to deal with magnaflow and the person i bought it from and am getting nowhere.

You might have the muffler twisted a little... Maybe the pipe over the axle needs tweaked. I had the MagnaFlo on my 98 a while back, & I recall that same issue, but did get them even ! I loved that exhaust !!! Good Luck !

i had mine installed at a shop, ..i think the mechanic had said he had to cut a small section out of the midpipe and then weld it back together..

he said these manufacturers "claim" their products are simple bolt-ons, but that's rarely true...

thats true most things that are supposed to be bolt on also include a torch, drill, or some other mod to get it to install proper. ill keep working it like a 3 dollar rental

My catback fit perfect with no problems. All I needed was socket, rachet, and rubber mallet

No issues here, i installed one on my car and a friends car and both times it went fairly easy with minor tweaking.
