MAF Sensor, do I need to replace it.

I noticed this weekend when driving around, that when going up a steep hill and getting on it a little bit it feels like it misses/skips every now and then. Now the wires that go to the MAF when idling if you put a small amount of pressure on the wires it will cut the car out for a brief second.

I don't know if when going up a hill the engine is shifting to one side just enough to move these MAF wires to cut it out for a quick miss or not. What's everyone else think???

    Any help is appreciated.

    Oh yeah its a 95 Z28 LT1 6spd.

yea it sounds like something is up, here's a cheap test:

try to find one at a junk yard or borrow one off one of your friends if they have an LT1, put it in your car and see if it helps

this is better than paying hundreds of dollars for a new one

Actually after rechecking, the wire in the plug looks loose. I thought it was in the MAF itself. Does anyone know if you can buy a new plug that plugs into the MAF that I can splice into the wires. I would resplice the plug I have but the wire is loose way down in the plug. In other words there's not enough slack to resplice the current plug.
