Navy Blue- 1999 Camaro Z28
Ordered the VC, took a couple weeks for it to ship, and this shows up:
Now then... that's the old style ls6 cover correct?
The gasket is different (color)
I see no stamped on part #, just the stupid hand written tag.
The plate on the bottom is missing?!?
Before I call these guys, I did get the wrong one, correct? Anyone know the part code for the one they sent me? Reading the last few posts, with the one they sent, I need the PCV in line still, the new style eliminates the need for it (maybe a catch can, but that's later...) correct?
Looking at ls1howto, they show the style I was sent. I am under the impression there was a change at one point.
**edit**
Ignore the drawing in the background... just some real work stuff sitting on my board.
**second edit**
Found the part # for what they sent me GM#12568002 in case anyone needs to ref this.
**yet another edit**
Bah... no need to reply here... All should be well in a few short days!
Short of it all... if you get a new ls6 VC, MAKE SURE they send you the correct one.Last edited by TokerM; 10-28-2010 at 03:19 PM.

while i am at it.......i think the plastic cover with the holes serves as a catch can.......no need for a separate one.....since putting it on.....i no longer have that vanilla milkshake crap on the inside of the oil fill cap

I'm going to do a catch can. Tired of the PCV issues.

When you are looking to get one, be mindful that there are two "oil switches" on the car, and from what I found, neither one is really called an "Oil Pressure Sending Unit." (Although that's exactly what it is!!)
There is one that costs about $20-$25 (or so,) and one that is around $40-$50. The cheaper one is the switch for the oil level light, the pricier one is for the oil pressure gauge. Make sure you get the switch for the gauge, that is the one in the pic.
I have one sitting at home, I'll check the number on it and edit later. **edit - the one I have is manufactured by BWD - S4184, got it from Advance Auto, they owed me a credit**
Any yes, I finally ended up getting my correct vc from Scoggin. About $75 if I recall? I'd have to check the PO when I get home.Last edited by TokerM; 11-09-2010 at 09:58 AM.
