LS6 intake install with new(er) injectors

***Just so we are clear, I am sending my PCM to Frost for a tune anyways

Alright so along with a couple other mods, i am ordering a LS6 intake once i get back from my trip

now i have a 99. which in turn means i have the 26lb injectors
i bought some 28lb injectors back when i was going to get a LS6 (but since they are no longer produced ***GFY GM*** i just stuck with a LS1)

    now i read this article
    http://www.highperformancepontiac.co.../photo_01.html

and it shows that i need to grease the injectors with Lithium grease, now am i supposed to grease the o rings correct?

it also says to make sure the manifold side seals are lubricated, what am i supposed to use to lube those?

and i cant seem to pop my fuel rails off. the intake is completely off the car....and im sketchy and dont wanna break stuff so...help please.

any other tips on swapping manifolds and injectors are more than welcome
    thanks

you used the same Lithium grease.

You will need to put a significant amount of force. do one side and the other will come right off. 1st time you always fill like your pulling to hard.

Make sure you tell Frost that you are installing 28 lb injectors.

how much grease is too much?

and yup i have the list right here:
    delete skip shift
    delete AIR
    delete ERG
    28lb Injectors
    SLP Air Lid
    LS6 Intake
    *mods in sig*
although i didnt see the point in listing the free ram air mod, tb bipass mod, new clutch, or suspension mods

Agree, he doesn't need those above.

I would spray it (if you have a can) on a piece of cardboard, use my finger tip and just rub it with that.

I wouldn't try to pack it like bearings, just a light glazing

    alright thanks.
i got the fuel rails off and swapped out one of the injectors just to see if i could then i put the old one back in and put the rails back on. it took maybe 10 mins (after i stop pussy footing around and popped it off)

now that im not too terribly afraid to start tearing my car apart....i say the mod bug has struck once again

I asked because of what you got vs what you had said in post 5. It sounded like this was your first time doing mods on your car. No disrespect, just seemed odd to me after seeing your list of mods.

better air flow. the stock bellows have that rigid pattern which restricts the air flow. most ppl say dont waste your time but i guy i met at a local car show said he gained 4rwhp with the bellows alone. so... $30 for 4RWHP....ehhh.every little bit helps

Jr, really it does nothing in the area of performance. It does IMHO go a long ways in appearance. I haven't decided on if I'll get one or not. I'v got to many other items on my build list to get first.

I have a TSB and was told it's worthless and useless. Me, I like it, it's gives the engine bay a different look and I think it does work. I feel a huge difference between it being on vs it off.

Op, always remember it's your car, you do what you like. Now with that said, I still wouldn't change my car pink and throw glitter all over it. That does deserve a beat down.

Like assholes every one has an opinion. Some are good and some stink. I let you figure out what my meaning is.

I dont let people change my mind too ofteb, unless its out of my own ignorance.
But like my rim choice...not many people will like that black rim on it but chrome sould be a waste of money now since i live on a rock road.
