    LS6 Intake on a 99 Z28

So as I understand it the LS6 intake does not have EGR hook up. Do you remove the egr solenoid and block off the exhaust? What about the computer does it need to be tuned out or will it throw codes?

The egr systems are different in a 99 vs 02 car. It's still there but just hooked up differently. I would just have it tuned out and removed but just know here nc they do look for it so make sure you know a shop who won't care if you do remove the egr.

^^ Correction. In either '00 or '01, they eliminated the EGR system. You can either remove the system and install block off caps on the manifolds, or adapt the intake to accept the EGR. I believe the mounting boss is still cast into the intake. Personally, unless emissions compliance is an issue, I would remove the system and have a tuner turn off error reporting for the EGR.

Your right I was thinking of the secondary air injection pump and confusing it with egr I should know better to respond to questions on here after a long day at work. But just keep in mind that since your in Guilford county like me they do look for the egr and secondary air injection pump system if the car comes stock with them. When or if we ever get a chance to meet up I know a few shops but I'm not putting them out on here.

I had deleted my EGR and Air on my 98 and when I took it to get inspected it did fail even though I had it tuned so that it wouldn't throw codes anymore.I think they called it a visual fail. So like was said already I would take it to a shop that doesn't care so much about that.

It was 2001, none of the fbody LS6 intakes had EGR.

In summary with the LS6 intake and I believe the Fast intakes as well, EGR needs to be capped (blocked off) and PCM needs to be tuned out. But Like Raynor139 states my county does look for that sort of thing. Thanks guys I'll need to think about this one.

We have "visual emissions" inspections here.
