LS6 Intake

Im looking at getting an LS6 intake for my '99 Z28 and don't really know what i need. Im in illinois so i have emmission testing so i think i need the egr provissions- right? Do i need a different size throttle body to do the swap. What kind should i get and how much power do the different kinds put out?

SLP sells a LS6 intake with a fitting to reattach the EGR tube. you will gain around 7 rwhp for about $500.00. same throttle body can be used.

What kind of emissions??

Do they do a visual? Or just a sniffer? Maybe just a SES light check?

only 7 rwhp? so there are more cost effective ways to get power. Maybe i'll put this off for a while then and do other mods.

If they don't do a visual, you can delete AIR and EGR. You will need the codes deleted by a tuner though.
Find a used LS6 intake. $300.

I don't know what the gains are, but when I installed mine you can definately feel that it breathes a lot better through the whole power band....but I also put on a ported TB at the same time.

Like Luos said...if they don't do a visual then gut out the egr and a.i.r., also make sure you tune out the codes and do a complete drive cycle before you do a smog.
