    Long Tube Emissions Question

    I am a header newbie about to buy some 1 3/4" LT Stainless Steel QTP's.
    I live in CA & noticed they have 3 different Y-Pipes to fit:
    ORY, Electric Cutout Y & Catted Y.

    My question is, if having LT's alone means you will not pass smog, wtf is the use of putting a Catted Y on???
    (For fooling the cops while robbing you of power?)

    I am seriously debating the Electric Cutout Y, (I realize I need to buy the controller also).
    I have a smogger, so not worried about passing...

    The cats will allow you to pass the sniff test, but you might fail the visual inspection because the cats have been moved from the stock location. Not sure on all the laws in Cali (every state is different), but that's what many have said.

    You do not need the cutout controller at all...it is an option.
