JET Hot LT's w/ heat coating

Does anyone know from EXPERIENCE how long the coating lasts on the Jet hot long tube headers for the 98-02 camaro ls1. I dont want to invest in a set if the coating just cracks off and rusts over.. And do they really cut down the heat in the engine compartment significantly....?

Can't say from experience...but the coating does reduce underhood temps, but will flake off in a few years if it is a daily driver. The only way for the headers to basically last forever, is to pop for stainless steel and shell out the extra cash.

if you are talking about a ceramic coating.... that is the way to go....

yes stainless is very forgiving it is also VERY hot!....

on my old SS with coated FLP's... you could drive for an hour... and then reach under the car and touch the y pipe and would not get burned.....

i heard they cut the surface temp by 200deg.

all coated headers will flake. but the headers can last for many years with surface rust.
