which intake system is better?
what would give me a better boost in power... a volant cold air intake or the SLP "flo pac" kit which includes, f body smooth bellows, k&n air filter, and a high flow slp lid box.
Those are considerations by me right now, but if anybody else has suggestions about intake systems post them please.

I would go volant, because you could take out the baffels in your ram air hood and make it true ram air. I have the SLP CAI which pulls air from the bottom of the car, but I couldnt tell much of a difference in power. You will get a few more horsepower from the volant, at most 5.

i think the consensus is that a ffra or a ssra will get more gains than true ram air like volant. . . therefore flopac with the ssra/ffra add-on piece should be better?? i dont know either will be about the same

I think it's personal preference. Depends on what you want to stare at when you open the hood.
I personally didn't want to stare at a pair of nostrals when I opened my hood I prefer the clean look of a simple SLP lid. I went with the SLP lid simply because I have an SS loaded with other SLP options, since thats what the cars about,,,it just made sense to install the lid as well in my case.
From there I did the free ram air under the lid because it's hidden,,,and later installed the flow pac setup...
Just for giggles I have taped them off at the track,,,first the hood, then the flow pac and found similar results with both,,,the difference was hardly measurable. But blocking both at the same time slowed the car..
So there is a little something to be said with simple air intake changes.
In the end it was more of a cosmetic decision for me.

I believe its Super Sucker Ram Air (SSRA) or Fast Toys Ram Air (FTRA) which both make a cold air intake that goes underneath the lid. Both companies. Just my .02
