Which Intake manifold to buy
I am looking at upgrading to a gm Z06, or wieand, which i can get for about $300-350, or should I wait and get the FAST, and if I go the fast route, should I go the 78mm, or 90mm. Keep in mind I already have the 80mm t/b and MAF, and dont plan on upgrading these in the near future, also long tubes and dual flowmasters. Thanks for the input. I am already leaning towards the Z06/Weiand because of the price(my r tires are also bald)

you have no need for a FAST at this time. stick with the Ls6/Zo6 intake. you can always upgrade in the future and get money out of the Ls6 intake to go towards the FAST...
do not get a Weinland since its a metal intake and will heatsoak robing you of HP. the Ls6 intake is more than capable of getting you through...2018 CTS-V: °°668rwhp/658rwtq°°

well i agree with brian stick with the ls6..if you go fast..go 90/90... 78 is a waste. if your going nitrous route then the weinland is a better bet since plastic isnt always the best bet for wet shots.

the Ls6 will handle spray alot better than the FAST will. i have seen the top shells of FAST intake with pieces blown out/off of it. however, i have not heard of an Ls6 intake suffering from issues relating to using spray...
Ls6 intake to handle spray/forced induction over a FAST. many people who run a FAST and then decide to spray or go forced, back down to the Ls6 intake for such reasons...

Thanks alot for your input guys, looks like I'll see how cheap I can get my hands on a LS6, what do you think about buying an LS1 intake manifold ported to ls6 specs? (like this)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...192409765&rd=1

yes it is, plus its formed and mated together better than the FAST is to the lower and middle shells. remember the FAST is a 3-piece intake, while the Ls6 from what i can remember when i had it on my car was molded together or possibly all one piece construction, which is why porting the Ls6 cant be taken as far as porting a FAST intake...

cha...so to sum it up and answer your question..ls6 for the win...until you really build your engine up..and are going the n/a route..then FAST 90/90

im not sure that's possible. the runners are different in design (deeper i believe) to allow for more flow. i dont know how you'd get in there to be able to port each one the same to achieve the results youre wanting. almost more work in regards to the little gains your might see. id just grab the Ls6 personally and be done with it...

well if he wants to do heads/cam wouldn't you want the FAST instead of the LS6?

depends really on how radical you want your cam. obviously if your starving your cylinders you need to upgrade to a 90/90 but that takes alot.
