    Intake manifold ?

I have been looking around at differenet intake manifolds and I came across the BBK intake at WS6store.com. Has anyone gave this one a try over the standard LS6 intake? They claim it flows 15% better. Any comments?

I think you're better off with an LS6 intake. The BBK may flow better, but the aluminum it's made of will be more of a heat sink, making the incoming air hotter, thus less dense, thus less oxygen to burn the gas in the mixture, thus less power. Make a lick o' sense?

agreed. you could look into the FAST 78 setup, but id much rather spend less on the ls6 for the same amount of flow.

if you have the money and plan on going for high HP in the future then the FAST 90mm with 90mm throttle is a good setup but only if you plan on getting a minimum of a cam to help put the 90mm to work...Other then that if your going small then stick with the LS6

i dont think heat soak is such the big problem that people make it out to be.
think about it, how long is the air in the manifold, not even a second.
i was going to get the bbk, but came across a used ls6 manifold for 250.
also you can easily port the bbk manifold.

I am thinking the same on the heat soaking situstion. I really don't go to the track and the only type of racing I really do is on the street. I mostly just enjoy spirited driving so I am really not too worried about the heat soaking.

Just listen for detonation with that 99 car with the egr and stock cam. I don't like heat in my motor - cruzing or racing - it still zaps power - and you can take it to the dyno and prove it!
