You can port the hell out of them, they will handle any nos back fire !!!
After they get hot, they stay hot, and they are a lot heavier than a composite intake.
I just went back to a ported LS2 90mm intake and sold my chunk of aluminum !!!

I liked the price I paid for the LS2 !!! I'd rather have a FAST, but I can't see spending that much. One nitrous back fire, it's done. I did my own porting, but this was the first composit / plastic port job I did, but it wasn't to bad. Went into it slowly & carefully... I used the aluminum wein intake paper gaskets for the heads & intake.

Near being the keyword. Tony doesnt do porting for free By the time you buy a LS2 intake and pay for all that porting, shipping, and misc, I bet you would be just shy of a FAST. Porting your own, would be a different story.

Agreed, I love having the FAST 92, but sometimes wish I just went cheaper and did a LS6. Then I remembered I have a disease where I cant stop blowing money on this car.

It is one Hell of a disease !!! Just picked up a NX Express fuel rail system for 500.00, and thought I got a great deal !!! Found out that the single Walbro 255 won't handle my 350 total shot... Ate 5 plugs in about 5 seconds... Now I need the dual pump set-up... $$$$

I dont know what im thinking. I just made 420 RWHP on a mustang dyno through a 9", now Im looking to completely change my setup. ETP heads from eveyon I talk to (In PM's, because no one on Tch is allowed to even slightly Nay Say AFR) say ETP's are top of the line. Gonna drive to ETP tomorrow and check some things out. Sickening.

I'm using small chambered 5.3 heads. Installed the 2.02 / 1.6 valves, and ported the Hell out of them. I figure I saved myself at least 1500.00 or better. Have Lunati +12cc dome pistons to make 14:1 CR ...
    Now I think I want a low CR and a twin turbo set-up !!!

From what I have heard/read, the burst panels work... up to a point. Usually you dont have a minor backfire It still trash's your intake I bet.
