    intake help

    i have been doing a llot of reading on different intakes for a 2001 engine and was wondering what would give me the best results i have heard not read that a aftermarket intake four carb would give me just as much punch as the fuel injected system now i am new to the ls1 block and i have been reading as much as i can so any help is good help

    I would go with the Fast 92mm LSX intake and Bigmouth throttle body.

    what would i pay for a set up like that and well lets just say i would need the entire set computer and wiring

    just read in computer help that the best if iam doing any other power changes is to go with a higher model 99 and up

    A 92mm LSX intake and throttle body will run you about $1150. I'd have it ported as well.
    I don't exactly follow what your asking about the computer though.
    You have a 2001 LS1, correct? What all do you have with it? and fuel injection items? If not then that'll up the price about 500 (thats if I were to do it since I would get the LSX fuel rails and a set of big injectors) or so ontop of a wiring harness and computer, if you don't have those.

    sorry bout not answering back been on vacation now what iam trying to do is figure out which is cheaper to do the intake or the injection no i do not have none of the thottle body nor computer just the engine

    carbs have there benefits and drawbacks, but I would think it would be way easier to set up a carb, rather than mess with all the wiring and sensors

    I'd personally go EFI, despite the extra trouble...
