    Installing a throttle position sensor

Any one know how to install a throttle position sensor on a 1994 Trans am?
I took the old one off yesterday & installed the new one last night, but I am having problems.

I installed the new one last night, after cranked it started idling at 1500 rpm, & after giving it some throttle, it jumps up to 2000 rpm, & stays. I usually have the t/a idled at 700-800 rpm.

Any one might know what the problem is? Or have i done something wrong while installing for it to jump to such a higher rpm?

did you unhook the sensor then turn the key to the on position for one min; the turn off rehook the sensor then see if it idles correctly.

I had this problem about a month ago, all I did is just adjust it move it around and hope you dont break it. I broke mine they cost 45 buck at autozone but it worked. Did you just install the tps sensor of did you also get a throttle body?

I just had to replace the Mass air flow sensor & the MAP sensor because it wouldn't
idle & kept dieing sputtering/coughing etc... & after i replaced them, the car idled perfectly, but when i would get in it, or simply try to get on the high way it would be hesitant in a way, kind of a sputter too, so that's why i replaced it.

Oh & thanks for the help!
Turns out i had the right idea, but there was a hose with a clamp right under the sensor & it would not let me rotate it as far as i needed too. So i got that out of the way & it is now idling perfectly!!
