im going to be using a friends lift... yes the plugs will be changed at that time as well.

should i just use the stock exhaust gaskets? or should i use some new ones? i hear the stock ones are fine because they're metal

your looking at about 30 bucks from a GM dealer unless you know someone who can hook you up cheaper.

Yeah it is!!!! It's fairly common for people new to installing headers to take a day to get them done...

The stock GM gaskets are excellent to use....but make sure you buy new ones & don't reuse the old....

i can see the first time taking 4 or so hours... but i can't imagine any longer than that if you're working on it the entire time...

i reused my original GM gaskets, havent had any trouble. i know of several others in st louis that did the same thing. no need for a new gasket if yours is in good shape stil

    have wrench-ease handy.

my buddy found a write up that helped me on my first LT install... do a search on that other 'tech' board for 'LT install'.

Reusing old gaskets is a bad idea period. $30 is pretty cheap insurance against a leak.

Took me an entire day as well. If I did it again I could probably do it in half the time. I also re-used the stock gaskets, but my car only had 5k miles on it at the time.

it took me a week or so to do my headers on my LT1......but I heard if you can do headers on this car.....everyhting else in the world is pretty easy.

btw, I did just about EVERYTHING myself, and hour-wise....I'd say a good 40+......all I had was 2 crappy jackstands, and a socket set. no swivels, a one size extension.....it sucked.....

but supposedly the LS1 is easier.....goodluck any way
