    installed headers

just installed the mac mids with catted y pipe this weekend. def not an easy job lol thats for sure. there is barely any room to work and everything was so close that i couldnt believe it actually fit. The directions on that website on how to install macs were not anywhere close either. they said to install them from the top but i tried for about a minute and it woulda never happened. they installed from the bottom but i had to cut and grind off those two tab things that stick out of the engine right below the spark plugs. once i got those off the headers went in kinda easy. still have a few adjustments to do because something very occasionally hits the bottom of the floorboard and has a slight rattle.

there are two tabs. one under the #7 cylinder exhaust port and one under the #6 port. they are about 3/4 inch wide and 1/2 inch high and stick out about 3/4 inch from the block and they were the obstacle preventing the headers from smoothly going up into place.

Those are probably tabs that hold the block in the machining and and assembly process at the factory. They serve no purpose once in the car. I didn't notice them on mine either Shady.

lol well hopefully they dont serve a purpose cause i had to cut them down by about a half inch. had to do it by hand with a mini hacksaw too since the sawzall wasnt working. took me forever. as i was cutting it off i was hoping i wouldnt hit anything important haha.
