How to tell the difference between LS1 and LS6 intake
I am trying to figure out all of the mods done to my car. How can I tell the difference between the LS1 and LS6 intakes?

There is a number on the intake I believe someone here surely has it, since your car is a 98 it most likely is a LS1 intake unless the previous owner changed it.

smash it with a sledge hammer. once its broken into pieces then you can just buy an LS6 to be sure.

LOL. honestly, Im changing my LS1 to an LS6 next weekend. If you dont have the answer by then Ill try to figure it out.

The bottom of an LS6 intake is flat, where the bottom of an LS1 is curved.
Moving this to external forum as well.

Ls6
Does it have a EGR valve on front of it? The LS1 intake has a hole in the front for the EGR I dont believe the LS6's have it. Thanks lug

98 Formula- 06 duramax
2001-2002 have the LS6. Everything else has an LS1 from the factory.
