    how much pipe MUST i run off my headers?

    im looking to dump my exhaust, i have long tube headers, no cats, a y-pipe... and i want to get rid of the y-pipe. how much pipe do i have to run in order for it to run right, without any harm?

    Probably about 18 inches.
    Probably want some kind of muffler on there as well.

    i know my buddies stang GT has no mufflers, just straights X pipe all the way back, and his sounds bad ass. like beyond loud.

    you dont haveto have pipe, In HS, my ypipe got ripped of the headers and all fucked up, i ran open headers for about 5 months before i bought a QTP with cutouts, and it never so much as hiccuped, but is ungodly loud
