Good Question. I'm Wondering The Same Thing. Are You Thinking Of Just Eliminating The Cats? Thats Wat I Want To Do I'm Currently Running A 3'' Y-Pipe With Slp Cat Back. I Was Told It Wasnt Recommended, It Would Just Create Turbulence In The Muffler. Not A Big Gain..

yeah im wondering how much hp i would net from going with straight pipes which means no muffler and cat. with a offroad Y pipe. I have a cherry bomb custom system on there right now it sounds alright but i want a deeper tone and a few extra ponies. So im going to have my friend weld in a straight pipe where the muffler and cat. was. DO NOT go to a muffler shop just to do a straight pipe set up and i already had the muffler off they wanted to charge me $220 without tips. Also they cant touch the cat.

I like my exhaust shop I go to. he is a hot rodder with multiple chevy performance cars from z06- ss's. he's pretty cool. he lets me work with him on my car. that's how I got mine set up the way it is. he just told me what to do with the ory on the welds to make it work right and that's it.

    $220 is actually pretty cheap.
