How much heat can a heater hose take if a heater hose can take heat?

I'm wondering how much heat can heater hose take. I want to wrap sections of my fuel lines in it. I'm thinking 1 inch sections every 4 inches for about 2 feet so that I can raise my driver side muffler about another inch. Will I be at risk of melting or burning through the hose?

Heater hose is not going to block heat. You need a meterial that reflects heat.

I just need it to keep the heat off the fuel lines. I remember reading about (a few times) people using heater hose on Y/X pipes to stop rattling, so I figured if the heat from the exhaust didn't burn through, or melt the hose in those cases it would be good for this too.
