Sunset Orange metallic- 2002 Camaro SS #303
How many would recommend changing the SLP exhaust in favor of the Borla cat-back?
I had the borla on my 98Z and I loved it. I am not to keen on the SLP Exhaust on my SS. I am sure this has been discussed plenty on this site but I am new here. If any of you have the specs on the two, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, it doesn't really matter what we think. If you don't like it, then change it.
And are you talking about the SLP catback from the factory or the SLP Loudmouth catback? Performance wise, you won't see a difference in power from the LM to Borla, just a difference in sound. I personally like the LM because its cheaper, still stainless, and sounds damn good.

No, its the factory exhaust. It sounds okay on the highway but no where near as loud as the borla. I am going to get the Borla ASAP.

If you've got the CME then I'd maintain the tips and the valance and add the Blora. The installation will just merge into the CME tips. If you dump the CME, if you have it, then you will also have to replace the SLP CME valance.

If you want the sound and have the money go with Borla, if you want the power stay with the SLP. Borla to me is just overpriced flowmasters. If you can find one get a SLP 2OTL(2 on the left) exhaust, makes more power than the regular SLP exhausts and has a nice rumble to it. I loved mine and gave me a little bit of a seat of the pants feel from stock. Got rid of the stock "popping" at least.

This is funny... My exhaust guy said "Oh, Borla" When he looked at my SLP LM... The tuner that dynoed my car told me he sees higher numbers from the SLP system most of the time... IDK, just saying...

Are you going to change anything on the front side of the exhaust or just cat-back?

I like my Borla. I might swap it out for a true dual once I get the headers though.

I've still got my stock catback but I've got pace-lt w/ory up front. basically I took off the most restrictive part of the exhaust and upgraded. my car is still quiet when I start it but I definitely hear it more than I did. When I rev is when it wakes up and I definitely feel a hp difference even without a tune.
so my vote goes to you getting some long tube headers an off road ypipe to start. If you still don't like it take it from there.
changing the catback will give you better sound and maybe a few more horses and cost quite a bit, or you could get some good cheap headers and put them in yourself and save a lot of cash and your car will def sound better and def have more power.

well, i say instead of the borla, go with the bassani tru-duals. i used to have the borla on the wife's car. here's the dyno results from swapping the exhaust system.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers
