how to get rid of the ''muscle car'' sound
Yep you read that right, I hate how American cars sound. I want to make it sound more European and sporty is it possible?
I was thinking of running a gmmg cat back and one of these mufflers in line after the Y

sorry I want good tone not just aggression. I've yet to hear a ''good'' sounding ls1. Plenty sound mean as hell but not that made me go WOW.
I do like the way the dohc mustangs sound. Some how an American company got that one right on the sound department. Now just need the power to back it up.
You do realize I want it to sound like a European V8 right? I deff don't want a ricer sound.

I already have, Which leads me to believe I need to work on it my self and just play around until I get it to sound right. I just wish it was possible to make this 5.7 sound like a ferrari 458 does.

European v8s come in all kinds which you thinking of, Ferrari, Audi, bwm, mb?

I do like magnaflow a lot but I like how it sounds with long tubes and cats and I think that will be to quiet. Isn't that what slowass had?
it's hard to explain what I want really:
I want a more mellow smooth sound but I love the sound of the fuel burning up in the pipes when you down shift.
I really like the gmmg and catted Y when revving but not when you let off the gas. thats why I was thinking of running a muffler before the cat back to see if I could mellow out the down revLast edited by wenn_du_weinst; 10-07-2011 at 11:49 AM.

I wanted a gmmg because I thought it would give me that muscle car sound.

Lol if it's rasp dont want, get magnaflow, keep your cats, and stock manifolds. If you want loud, accept the rasp... It's always going to be there.

Get some 180* headers made.
Also heard the Dr.Gas Frequency Mod Mufflers will give a certain exotic sound.

We run long tubes, a catted Y and Magnaflow catback on our car. No rasp, not too loud (except when the cutout is open... which happens to be quite often) and the sound is perfect imo. No way I would compare it to anything European though. Sounds like American muscle should is the only way I can describe it.

It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

^^ Knight's car sounds absolutely badass! His car and cpop98ws6's are my favorite sounding F-bodies.
