    How can you tell?

I am currently looking to buy an ls6 intake on ebay or even on this site.. I heard that it adds a considerable amount of horsepower. My question is how can I tell if it is a genuine ls6 intake? And why would an ls6 intake add horsepwer as opposed to an ls1 intake that i have on my 2000 trans am?

ls1's love to breathe. LS6 is a bigger intake thus allows for more air flow causing more horepower. About 15 hp.

The one on the left is the LS1 intake, the flat one on the right is the LS6 intake.

You can also ask for a picture of the part # that is cast on the left side of the manifold I believe. I will see if I can find the #s that signify LS6 intake.

It is visually hard to tell the difference. You have to know what to look for. Many people over the years have been cheated into buying an LS1 intake while believing they were buying an LS6.

why not show the front of the manifold, you can definately tell the difference there. LS1=EGR hole on the top front of the intake, LS6=no hole.

usually $300-350 used. Ebay or for sale section. You gotta look for a good deal. I got mine brand new on ebay with coolant lines for $300 including shipping.
