I think it is only an inch taller in height but it is deeper then the LS1. That is where it gets it increase in volume.

thanks but im looking for the actual height of the intake in inches measured from the base of the mounting flange for the head to the highest point on the intake. I apologize for not clarifying that earlier.

Any particular reason as to why you need to know this? I'm just curious.
In trying to find the answer for you I came up short, but I did find this so I figured I'd post it!
_______________ls1_____ls6
Plenum volume - 5.06L--5.19L
runner volume --.536L--.541L
runner length ---262mm-262mm

ya man no problem, im looking into a 402 build and was looking at some head and intake setups, edlebrock has the lingenfelter ported heads with a 230 intake runner that flow 323 cfm at.600 lift, did some looking around their site and saw their pro flow xt intake. they claim 30 more horse over an ls6, im trying to find actual numbers for it right now. but for a little over 2300.00 i could do a 90 mm throttle body, that intake and those heads through edlebrock so i wanted to see how much taller that intake is over the ls6 to see how much modding to the cowl i would have to do for it to fit. Plus i like the look of the raised intake lol. I know that is not a good reason at all but hey it cant hurt. just an idea running through my head right now along with a 1000 more.

If you are dropping the $$ for a 402, might as well get the FAST102 set-up.

If your building a 402 dont waste time on an ls6 intake by going to the fast on a motor like that you will be picking up 20-30hp up top and also a lot under the curve. The ls6 is good for bolt ons or a cam but with a stroker you need something more.

Power under the curve.
The LS6 intake would be a bottleneck on that motor.....

i understand everyone's sentiments on the LS6 intake, please be aware though that i never intended to use an LS6 intake, i just needed to know how tall it was so i could compare it to the 10.2 inch height of the edlebrock pro flo xt intake i was looking at. MY00Z28 was able to provide me a pic of someone running it so i could see how much cutting was done to utilize that intake.
