Congrats! I have Hooker LTs and their ORY, headers were a great fit and the ORY fit nice and high too, but I did have to massage it a little so it wouldn't rattle. Just be ready for the ceramic coating to wear off after a year or so, under the car. The top half still looks pretty good.

Oh yeah, no need for an immediate tune, 3 years later for me and still no tune.
Runs great! Gas mileage up! Track times quicker.
Make sure the spark plugs and wires are on tight, there have been a lot of people here who wondered what the ticking noise was after the install or a missing on acceleration, only to find it was a loose spark plug (ticking) or not tight plug wire (missfiring).

mmm interesting. Yeah, ill hold on the tune until i get a cam, head, intake swap done then ill get the tune. oh and i will make sure i check the plug and wires after im done. I got access to lifts so im doing it that way. Lot easier than on the ground.

Im still really wanting to get stainless steel. the OBX ones i just found are pretty enticing for 350. They look like they are designed after Pacsetters

There's a thread about option racing ebay headers, only thing people say is to get the flanges for the AIR/EGR fittings welded up, shouldn't cost much at a shop. People say the crack off. Besides that people are real happy with them.

In that case i might go with the STAINLESS STEEL OBX ones that i just found for 325 (OBX Header 98-99 Camaro Firebird V8 5.7L Stainless ) 35 shipping and get a TSP ORY. I think that would be a better route. Plus, im a welder anyway so i could do that weld up for free if i had to. I was looking around and I came across these and they look Just like pasetters only stainless. plus they are 1 3/4 primaries and 3" collectors. hope thats the truth.

Just make sure you are prepared to grind a little off the K-member. Not everyone has to, but its a possibility. And dont use the cheap gaskets they come with

Oh by no means am i using the paper gaskets. GM all the way baby. I might have the EGR/AIR tubes run with an additional bead to make sure they stay on and a bracket like most other headers. Thats what i notice could be the underling issue. it might just need some support with all the heat cycles and banging it in and what not. SO either the option ones or the OBX ones for me and the TSP ORY. since pacesetters apparently are not good, so says the general population

So, decided not to pay the hookers, eh? LOL. I sorta wish I went with stainless, but three years later they are still doing fine and I've never had to dink with them since. No leaks.

Ok now that i got the headers coming im just wondering. I was looking around on summit to get a pricing and Edelbrock Y-pipes are cheaper. $107. The merge looks pretty good to. Can anyone vouch on edelbrock ORY's?
