I was concerned about low hanging headers, so I was advised by all here to not get SLP. I bought Hooker ceramic coated and their ORY. These fit higher than my stock exhaust did, and the tubes are tuned length. Pacesetters are not tuned, but the HP difference is only a few, not sure if Mack are tuned.

I thought Mac were only mid length? Long tubes are the only way to go unless you are concerned about emissions. Pacesetters are going to be your best bang for buck headers, hookers are ok, and if you have the money go with QTP or Kooks.

I've got pacesetters and the clearance is pretty good, the only time i have a problem is with minor scraping over large speed bumps.

I had the Mac Mids and with off road h pipe. Well the only reason I went with those is because I got them brand new with the y-pipe for about 250. Benefits of working at Year One. Never had any problems with clearance. Ypipe tucked up real nice even on the passenger side and love the ball and socket connectors. I would stay away from SLP. Those are about the worst ones for lowered cars other than that it is just gonna be being smart about were you go.

If your budget allows, go with stainless. They last way longer than anything else out there. Kooks and Dynatech are the best ones IMO.

Just stay away from Flotechs... just spent 24 hours (12 hours sat and 12 hours on sun) trying to install them and the exhaust on a 00 trans am this weekend... FINALLY got them on.. but the WORST fit and placement possible. But my vote is COATED PaceSetter LongTubess.

You need to find out what your laws are.. if there is emmissions testing.. then you technically need Cats, Air system, etc. PS does make emissions friendly LTs as well as racestyle...

True, i know your supposed to have cats and we do have emmisons and such...what about the 4 o2 sensors? sry for bein a pain...so jus get some lt's with a y-pipe? and i guess put some type of cat right after the y-pipe?

If you don't get the offroad y, and get the emmissions LTs, you should be able to get cats on between them like they should be... someone correct me if I'm wrong...

hrm....i wonder if theres a "good" kit with all that included? i've seen the headers and y-pipe, but does that mean i'll need to get a seperate high-flow cat? or if the o2 sensors go into the header tubes, then the computer wouldent even know if there was a cat??

I read somewhere on this site that people have put on LT and a Catted Y-pipe, not sure where. Do a search.
Emission laws are different everywhere, some are only checking for codes, some are that plus visual, some are those plus a dyno run. With the visual, some make sure the cat is in the correct location. LTs move that location, so illegal if you must pass that. You could only use shorties, they connect directly to your stock cats.
Your computer will know if you have no cats unless you tune it out. That is why you have 4 O2 sensors, 2 before the cats (to monitor AF ratio) and the 2 after, to monitor cat efficiency. 1 O2 sensor before and after each cat.
Maybe someone from GA could help you more on this.
