    Have Exhaust Problem? Need Advice.

I have a 1995 Trans am LT1 with a Flowmaster exhaust and Borla tips. I've had the car about 1.5 years and everything has been fine but lately the last several weeks I hear this loud sound from under neat the car and its hard to explain. I've jacked the car up twice and checked everything and everything is tight and nothing is loose. Seems the sounds coming from under neath the driver and passenger seat and I'm guessing here but it might be the exhaust firing inside the muffler? Sounds like when I take off and around 20 miles an hour I feel this loud sounding growling noise? Weird but not sure how the Flowmaster works but curious if anybody has had this or know where I can start looking? I hear the noise even at 60 mph.
Car shifts fine but I get this growling noise with a loud cluncking noise. I don't have Headers but I do have a cold air intake?

    Any ideas? Thanks

If the sound is coming from under the seats there is no way it is your muffler, which is behind your rear axle, even though the baffles of a flowmaster can break loose and make all kinds of noise. If you are still running factory cats then I would say that one or both (I think 95's only have one) of them are your problem. I had a rattle (growl) noise coming from under the passenger seat of a '94 z-28 and had my converter replaced with piping. Problem solved and a better sounding exhaust.

If you floorboard gets really hot where your converter is then its shot.

Thanks for the suggestions. Should I take it to a muffler shop to see if they know if the problem is in the Cat converter or Flowmaster exhaust? Can I just take the Cat converter off? heard It will sound better but I know we're not suppose to do it. How loud will it sound and what problems it'll cause? Thanks
