    what route should i take h/c, or superchager.....want to make a little over 400rwhp

    Well with a 98 you should hit 380-400 RWHP with a lid, LT, ORY, good flowing CB(Hooker, Magnaflow etc.) a nice size but still street friendly cam, LS6 manifold and a good tune to top it off. Ported TB, free mods and a pulley will help out also.

    As far as SC or H/C package you should have the above supporting mods before you do either of those anyway, to get the most out of either and your $$$.

    i have all those mods you mentioned except the cam......i would definately pick FI over h/c hands down, but i have some concerns about boosting a high compression motor and how reliable it will on the long run

    you dont have to go crazy boost at all.
    there are a decent amount of guys who are boosted and have not had any problems.
    dont beat on the car non stop, and it will be fine.

    A little boost goes a long way. Most guys run something like 4-6 lbs at most with compression. You end up with plenty of low-end on the motor, and as the boost comes in, it can add a great deal of power as long as the timing and fuel is what it should be.
