From what I keep reading there is no need for an after market MAF. Just get it polished.

The Granatelli Aftermarket MAF will make u run lean on the dyno for a tune.
It is hard as shit to tune.....its rediculous.....not worth the money makes it a pain in the ass and un tuneable.....
Save urself the 200 dollars and get u something else man....save up for a cam or headers or anything man.....mayb even a rearend cover.....
That MAF IS A POS!!!!! DONT GET IT NO POINT IN IT......ITS FOR UNKNOWLEDGABLE LS1 GUYS LIKE THE HYPERTECKIII TUNER!!!!
Its for the people that say they have 400hp, and brag about their (Only) Mods.....K&N Air Filter, a Superchip and "Flowmaster" Exhaust.
Seriously man....learn from others mistakes.....
IT will be a big waste of money if u ever wanna tune it or do anything....
it will add power over stock if u dont do anything but will limit u on any other mods u do because of the impossibility to tune
TSP Rumbler, LT's, TSP Tqr2, PRC 921 Springs, Comp Lifters, Chromoly 7.4" Pushrods, Titanium Retainers/Seats/Seals, ARP head bolts, BMR full Rear suspension

I agree that the MAF is intended for the consumer that is looking for a simple bolt on. If you are planning on tuning with aftermarket software then we sell just the ported ends for like $65.00 - they come in red, black, black or clear. The MAF works. It should not lean the engine down. While a few guys report eh lean bank 1 & 2 situation they fail to tell you or us of the other changes they make. This is called "stacking". Stacking is combining more then one part and hoping they will work together. Since we tune each meter individually, we can make the meter go richer or leaner upon the customers’ request. However our generic tunes as shipped should be 2% leaner on NON cold air intake vehicles and 4% richer if you order the parts with our cold air tune.
In any event we can always make you a meter that will do exactly what you want it to do. In fact GMS is the only aftermarket company that can bend the MAF tables up and down meaning exponentially not linear

Again we more or less agree. - but consider this. Every meter is flow tested and they all output the same plus or minus 1.5% as this is the Delphi standard we must meet. To say that our meter will not repeat is like saying the stock LS6 meters do not repeat. Therefore, if you can tune for a stock MAF you should be able to tune for ours.
Lastly the fact that our MAFs are the only meters that have past 50 state CARB testing is an indication that they repeat and are calibrated. But it is OK to agree to disagree sometimes.
What always gets me is this - GMS has sold 1000's of GM MAF's since 1997. We have always had a money back promise if you are not happy or the part did not perform yet our return rate is like 2% and our failure rate is less then 1/10th of 1%. If you parts as so bad why don't more people return them for a refund?
We want harmony not arguments - peace my brotha

Ehhh.....mayb im gonna get myself in a shitstorm........but From what ive seen guys go through......they can never get em tuned.......
I accually was about to buy one with a 85mm tx spd lid but after seeing what happened to my friends i didnt do it........

yep yep, I agree, for a mainly stock car the maf will be ok. I also have other granetelli parts, just dont use the maf anymore after the addition of LT headers and TD exhaust and ported tb.
