getting ready to start working on my 02 T/A

I had a couple things i wanted to ask to get soem opinions in, what temperature does the 02 Trans Am run under, in other words what temperature, thermostat should i get, also im thinking of putting a (SAI) the ram air intake, do you guys suggest a ram air, or a cold air induction?
my car is still stock and i want to start working on it.
Thanks for the advice if any.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/genera...ses-light.html Do this not a thermostat. With a cooler thermostat your only gonna run cooler on the highway without turning the fans on more. As far as a intake you can make own for cheap or buy one like fasttoys. However you run the risk of hydrolock.

yeah, i second the "use the stock thermostat" motion

as far as the intake, get a lid to start with. then do the free ram air mod. if you can find a good deal on an ssra or ftra go for it but otherwise the lid will be fine.

i really don't think the risk of hyrdolocking is anything to worry about. a puddle would have to be 18 inches deep to get the the gap for the front bumper support thing. otherwise just take the seal off the front in bad weather and you're fine.

If you are really worried about temps get a manual gauge to put in the system our gauges are more "dummy" guages then anything. Since you have a T/A I would not do the free ram air mod as it would be better if you removed the baffles and made the nostrils functional.
And welcome to the sight from the east bay.

You did not have to get the ws6 for the r/a hood. Really if you want to get some actual power get the lid and the ftra or ssra to get cold air to the car. If you want to hook off the line better get some lower control arm relocation brackets. Introduce yourself here norcal-lsx.com
weekly car meets at union city and concord. Just had an autox this past weekend if you scope through my past threads, a small group going down to laguna seca this weekend, and a mod day following that weekend on my buddies pro-charged T/A.
I'll hook you the fuck up
