    Garbage TSP ORY

yes it's official it's a turd. I have tried to cut, recut, weld and bend this hunk of garbage and have given up even trying to put it on my vehicle. I bought TSP headers and Y and the junk doesnt even go together and bolt up to my cat back. I can understand that a tweak or two may be needed but their pipe is rediculous. I have cut 3" out of both parts that go to the collectors (in straight areas of the exhaust. i have a clue) and even tried to bent parts of it to make the pipes fit together better. All of this to no avail. i'm just gonna have to make my own or have someone make me one. nothing like having 300 dollars tied up into a friggin y-pipe.

Wish you would have had a chance to talk to me before ordering that TSP, I don't care for their construction either. Merge collector sucks.

I would have told to to go to an LSXtreme Y pipe. Much better quality.

Hey Firebirdjones, will the LSXtreme ORY bolt up to TSP 1 7/8 headers? Or how extensive of modification will that include (if you know)? Just cause the LSXtreme Y pipe looks incredible and the TSP doesn't impress me near as much.

Yes the LSXtreme will work with the TSP headers, or Kooks, or even Pacesetters. They have a little more adjustability, better floor clearance, and a merge collector that is what a merge collector should be made like. It's not a pair of pipes that are just "T'd" together.
    You'll be happy.

Thanks for the advice. One question: Is it stainless steel? It doesn't say on their site in their product description.

the LSX pipe sounds great as long as it bolts up to the cat back i have. it should meet in the stock position so that it all comes together.

I haven't seen a good picture of a kooks Y, but as long as it has a well made merge collector instead of a cheap "T" pipe, then I'd use it.

I only recommend that if the shop has a mandrel bender. Otherwise you get crush bends, something I prefer to stay away from.

Did you guys ever hear about the lsextreme going out of business or people never getting their orders after they paid? There was a big fiasco over at ls1 tech over this. I think his name is Justin. I actually ordered his long tube headers off ebay and I received mine... This was prior to the y pipe even being available. I wanted to order the y-pipe then I started hearing all these stories. So buyer beware. I finally got the headers on and I went with a mufflex y-pipe. I am pretty happy.

Most of us don't visit tech, including myself, so unless it's mentioned here most of us wouldn't know. Nothing was mentioned here that I'm aware of, as a matter of fact, I've talked to him a few months back, I have the email here somewhere.
There was even a 4-5 page post about them here with great info a couple months back and no mention of trouble getting parts.

I'd like to hear more if anyone has information on it.

well i tried to call the number that is posted on LSXtreme and i get nothing but voicemail. so i'm guessing either they don't wanna make money anymore or they are out of biz.

Haha, well I didn't want to come out and say it but....since you opened the door, then ya, to be brutally honest most of them seem to talk out of their,,,,well,,,,I'll keep it clean lol. I'm sure there are some knowledgable people over there, but that board does seem to attract some real winners that get their feelings hurt easily.

I've gotten voice mail before and just left a message, he always called me back, granted it's been a couple months since I've talked to him. Unless something has happened I wouldn't give up yet.
