Exclamation Flowmaster Setup (from muffler to tips)

OK here is the deal. My friend was showing me how to do stuff under my car. He found out that I had a new pipe installed in my car between the cat and the muffler, therefore eliminating the need for a full Flowmaster kit that I was planning to get. I now will be going with these:

    and two of these:

I am planning on doing the install myself. Now my question is, what pipe do I connect from muffler to the tips? Is this the tailpipe? Is it somewhere on this Summit.com page (http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?Ns=P_SRE_DisplayPrice|0&N=700+429492 3429+400238+4294748485+115&Ntt=&Ntk=&rsview=sku&RC =50#rstop) Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

P.S. Is there any legal aftermarket headers that I can use in California where I can still pass the emissions test?

Well I just installed a mangaflow catback on mine. I'm not sure what you already have undernearth, but it may not fit to your flowmaster (could be wrong on that). My magnaflow had different lengths compared to stock. An example of a full exhaust system is Headers --> Catted or catless Ypipe (can have cutout(s)) --> midpipe (can have a cutout) --> over-axle pipe --> muffler --> tailpipes --> tips

but to answer your question, yes. Tailpipes connect tips to the muffler.

Maybe these pics can help you?

Ypipe with cat connecting headers to mid-pipe

mid-pipe with cutout connecting y-pipe to over-axle pipe

over-axle pipe connecting mid-pipe to muffler

I am concerned with just the Muffler and the tips. I believe I have a 3" pipe so I am getting a 3" in/Dual 2.5 out to the tips. So I would have to just find some tailpipes to connect lol.

Yeah. I just posted that info for anyone else that might need it. What you should be able to do is find the part # of the tailpipes from the kit you want then search for it.

As for your header question, LTs are not legal in Cali but shorties are (small gains, not even worth it). Same goes here in TX, but I know people with LTs here that have somehow passed, whether from a tune or help from the shop.

Yea that is fine. Thanks for the useful info OneTroubledGuy. I really do appreciate it. This is the kind of help that I like on the forums.

There is a guy on the LS1Tech forums that says the Elderbrock makes some that should be legal and pass emissions. Hhhhhhmmmmm.......

The ones in the pictures weren't magnaflow, but look pretty much the same. This is the magnaflow catback I installed after those pictures were taken:
