finally modding
well i finally started to do some work on the ride, got the air lid, bellows and kn to start. just bought a ported tb and ls6 intake off ebay and waiting for that to come. removed the exhaust in anticipation of the header install (tsp 1 7/8) and ORY (tsp, ugg i know). already got the cat back (magnaflow). i'm hoping for a strong sound but not too bad. just waiting on mounts before the headers go in. Car is getting tuned later this month so hoping for the 330-340 range rwhp. I'm also sending the valve covers out to be powdercoated black to match the car and have a good contrast with the MSD wires. of course changing the plugs to NGK also.
thanks for all the stickies that are making this a much easier process.

to the point of valve covers on and mounts in. mounts are a pain if you have never done them but still wanted to do it with the header install. hope to put headers in tonight and then just wait for intake to arrive and weld up the y-pipe.

Try to beat my number. 358.5rwhp/369.7rwtq on my WS6 which I had I think 28K miles on, the reason I say beat it is because I did the same EXACT setup with exception to the P&P TB and catback, I went magnaflow with dual dual tips, can't tell but it looks like you went with the slash tips. Anyways I'm excited to see this build

Blackbird did you install your headers because that extra 1/8" is really giving me trouble on the drivers side. i have dented the floor some, removed oil filter, removed oil passage cover (the one right above filter) and even the steering shaft in efforts to get it in and still being stubborn. I may have to grind the subframe some because that seems to be one of the big spots it catches. i'm out of town with army duties this weekend but come monday ill be back in the garage again. hope the intake gets there in the meantime. I had a 99 that finished up with 325 rwhp and liked it so im excited to potentially have 350+

Okay so how I installed them was raised the car as high as I could on jack stands (if you use a lift don't worry bout this step.
Unbolted the motor mount to the block and raised the motor (not a lot just to where it almost touches the firewall up on top.
Then angle the header straight up and down where the collector faces the ground and turned it several times til it went it. Worked for me, didn't have to notch anything didn't fuck up my header other than some surface scratches however it did take all night to find a way

i went with pacesetters on mine and we did it on a lift. no cutting or hammering or anything they just slid right in. only thing we had to unbolt was the steering shaft. but your going the right direction op great job!!

yeah im to the point where the 3rd tube back has some scratches on it and i know coating only works if its still on the pipe. ill try to jack it up more and put it straight in. maybe some lube will help

Lol you're not havin sex with it, just work it in. It may take some force but it should go in. Did you lift the motor any?

ok headers are in. had to lift the engine up some and put the drivers almost straight up and down for it to go in. just waiting on that intake to get here. should be today. also found that the TSP y-pipe is longer than stock so gonna have to cut my mid pipe back some to get it all together. hope it sounds good after all this
-

No don't cut your mid pipe!!! You'll regret it. If anything cut from the tsp, cuz if later you decide to change out the y you can still keep your catback. I cut my mid pipe and over the year I changed the whole exhaust to true duals and I had to scrap the Y and since i cut my mid pipe I can't sell it as a kit anymore because its modified, cut the tsp it's the cheaper part that will see the most damage from the road too

Car is back on the road and sounds good. After tune it made 340 hp and 341 tq. little less than i was expecting but not bad.
