I'm not sure about the flow difference, but the fast does not absorb heat like an aluminum intake will. Which means the fast will have a slightly lower intake charge temp. The aluminum intake is great if you are going to run some type of boost because it can handle higher pressures.

If he has a FAST 90 on a stock cube LSx motor, there isn't much in the way of an aluminum intake that will help him (unless he's running a FI or N2O setup and wants a little added security).
I used to have the aluminum Weiand intake on my car and I picked up 45 rwhp and 20 rwtq just from my mild head swap and a ported FAST 92/92 combo. Keep in mind, that's only a gain in the peak numbers....I picked up a TON of power throughout the band.2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.

I got one for you. Tell him the aluminum is better, then buy his fast off of him at a steal price once he buys the aluminum.

a ported 90/90 fast intake is about the same as a ported fast 92/92.. their is really not that much of a difference in them except that fast stop makeing the 90..

hey everyone, the dude has an 01 z. it is cammed with stock manifolds, gutted cats, 3500 stall and 3.73s. he also has a fast intake but wants to get rid of it because he wants aluminum. i told him he was crazy and the fast is better and will run cooler. he told me i dont know shit about engines and he could build a better engine because aluminum you can port and the fast is uportable. i told him whatever big guy and walked off.

The 92 isnt that much more of an intake.
Only the mouth is an extra 2 MM's. The plenum is the same. They are almost identical, to my understanding.
The extra 2 mil in the mouth isnt going to do much. ESPECIALLY on a stock cubed LS1. I bet you dont see any more gains with the 92 over the 90. All they did was re-do the 90 with a slightly larger mouth and tell everyone it is the cat's meow compared to the 90.
