Factory Fuel Rail Questions

I have OEM rails on my red '00. I took the intake off to replace the oil pressure sender and the cam position sensor and to clean all the oil out of the intake. I have subsequently gotten the intake painted and was wondering if anyone has taken the black paint off of the fuel rail via paint remover, wire wheel, etc? Is it stainless steel? Any mix in the metal? Any chance of rusting? Should I put a coat of clear after removing the black paint? Just think the silver fuel rail would look good on the mirror finish black paint on the intake manifold. I also looked inside the fuel rail and saw what seemed to be a little rust. Would it be advisable to spray some PB Blaster and let it soak, and then spray some brake cleaner to clean it out? Thanks in advance!
