    Exhaust Question

I just got Long tubes installed and my neighbors are bitching. Would I lose any power by putting another muffler where the y pipe meets the catback to quiet it down? Or should I get high flow cats.

you could put a resonator in the i-pipe to quiet it down. will it be enough? don't know. i put cats back on the wife's cars to get rid of the interior drone. it helped on the exterior noise as well.

What cat-back system are you currently running? You could check out http://www.ls1sounds.com/ if you haven't yet. Look at the Borla-mouth and Dyno-mouth setups, basically what mrr23 said.

Personally, when I get headers, I'll be running cats to keep the noise down and the smog police happy.

Yeah it also really depends on what exhaust you have. You could switch to a quieter catback exhaust system. But like the guy said above. Screw your neibor. Unless you lived in a gated community or something and can get kicked out.

You should actually get some cutouts and mount them just south of the collectors. Then change jobs... find one that you have to get up REEEEAL early to leave for. And make sure to hurry so you'll be on time.

I don't know what catback your using, but you could use a quieter set or buy a catted Y-pipe. Both will help.

Don’t do anything. Keep it the way you want it. Tell them this is The United States of America and you can do what ever you want within the law. (where im from there are no noise violation so yea.. If you put a ‘mufler’ on it, you will lose hp. I’d say go with what RIC said, “get some cutouts and mount them just south of the collectors” that will make them REAL happy.

    Good advice.

Original poster - really man, just put a Hooker catback on there w/cats and your system will flow extremely well and not be rediculously loud.
