The Exhaust parts are starting to pile up...
Looks like Santa decided to make a St. Patty's day drop off:
Yes, another eBay headers thread, but these are a little different. I have been going back and forth on which headers to get- I knew I wanted stainless steel, but I don't have the welding skills (and it truly is a skill and an art) to weld up the EGR and AIR tubes and make it look nice. So I searched around annd found LSXtreme on eBay who basically gets all the same unfinished pipes that other eBay stores use, but they dont cut in the EGR and AIR tubes. I'm holding off on installing until the end of the month when I get their y-pipe, so I'll have a better idea of the fit and finish then.
Other parts ordered:
1 set of Percy ss split header bolts (I've used Stage 8's for years, but I thought I'd try these since the engine bay is a bit cramped)
1 GM exhaust gasket (yes, my dumb assed self didn't notice that gmpartsdirect sells them individually...)
1 EGR blockoff plate for the intake
2 Bosch 13111 O2 sensors
Still need:
Y-pipe
Motor mounts
Plug Wires
band clamps
another exhaust gasket
BTW- thanks to the community for all the great info!Last edited by bberretta; 03-17-2010 at 02:38 PM.

Very cool ! I am in the same boat as you! I can't wait to get allmy stuff. How durable are the stock gaskets? They're reuseable?

I was going to stay with GM gaskets- well, at least the one I ordered is...
So I can just reuse the old ones? Do the stock manifolds crimp the gaskets different from the way the hearders would seal to them?

The stock ones are three layered steel gaskets, no need to buy new ones unless your anal about that kinda stuff
Plenty of people reuse their old ones and have no problems at all

I've put Stage 8's on every car I've put headers on - My old Chevelle, Nova, Truck, and even my Dad's '55 that is just a rolling chassis right now. I wanted to try out the Percy's to see if they were any easier or fit any better.
Just went out and took both headers out- they look amazing. The O2 sensors look to be more level than I've seen on many of the eBay headers (usually the passenger O2 bung is pointing down a bit). Now I just need the rest of my parts! (Patience is not my greatest virtue!)

The EGR plug arrived today- we'll see if it fits. It's for a 99-2000 LS1 f-body/Truck. GMPartsDirect has 'em (GM# 12558346).
and
I've sprayed it matte black to blend in with the intake for now.
(Note: these pics are from another site- not installed on my car)Last edited by bberretta; 03-18-2010 at 05:35 PM.

Kooks must send better gaskets- almost every other gasket I've seen looks like cardboard/fiberboard covered with foil. For the price of the Kooks they better not be going half-assed on anything for you guys! I'm sticking with the factory gaskets.
