I'll see what I can dig up specifically for you but most likely any modifications like that are going to be illegal. Most state exhaust laws are set up that if the car is louder than stock it's going to break a noise ordinance. I'll see what I can find though.

You might consider welding in a cutout, hide it under the passenger side back seat, and cap it when you have inspection. An electric cutout works great if cops give you trouble, just close it up when you need to be quiet.
I just installed an electric cutout and love the sound.

More than likely not... I live in AR and the law is you cant dump it under the passenger compartment... Since and f body is a hatchback you are more than likely gonna have to run it all the way back or out the side...

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Theoritically and technically, nothing is illegal until you're caught...
Here in Az they plug in for codes and check gas cap pressure. Pass both, fess up the coinage and you're good for another couple of years.
So basically it boils down to what type of smog inspection do you have to pass?

just get some race ready performance cutouts, get the wireless switch add on and put the wired switch under your hood and tell the officer "i only use it at the track" and then you have a wireless key fob to operate it at your descretion

Most states probably have their version of the "modified exhaust" law and it gives LEOs the ability and its very open to interpretation.

I live in central (rural) illinois and around here nobody gets bothered for their exhaust that would suck to live in an area where you had to worry about that, i have lts no cats, catback, and a cutout on the T/A, i also have a silverado with straight pipes on it, no cats no muffler just pipe, and i have a harley that can literally be heard for miles away at night on the highway
Never had a bit of a problem with any of it

I dunno some cars if I recall came with side dumped exhaust from the factory I think. I don't need to worry about that here In my end of PA. As long as it "apears" to have everything intact they will pass it in areas where there are no emissions testing. My 92 z34 is exempt, we have a 5000 mile per year limit. This year My Camaro should hit the exemption too. But the z34 has a odometer bypass just incase..
Smittro does not condone illegal activities..
