Exhaust Help!!!!!!

Ok just bought an LS1..... How in the heck do you install headers?? do you have to drop the motor or is there something I'm missing? and whats the best all around header and Y pipe to run?

From the bottom. Sometimes the starter has to be removed and sometimes the engine has to be lifted a little bit but not always. I have Dynamax headers but any quality header is a good choice. Stay away from cheap headers they are cheap for a reason.

Get everything off that you can from up top like bolt, plug wires, ect. It helps to take off the coil packs and maybe even the valve covers. Then jack the car up like he said and do the rest from the bottom. You will have to jack it up almost as high as it will go. Depending on the header you can loosen the eng mounts and jack it up to get it the clearance that is needed. Pacesetters seem to be popular for the cheaper header, it just depends how much money you want to spend before that question can be answered. Do a search there is tons of theads on which headers are "best".
