exhaust help
I know this can be an opinion question, but which exhaust sounds the best and will let my 00 m6 TA breathe the best? Borla, magnaflow, corsa, flowmaster, or any of the SLP's. Also, x pipe or y pipe? thanks

I would normally tell you to read the other dozens of posts about this but I feel like avoiding doing work so... Breifly, X-pipe at the right distance for flow, H-pipe for sound, and y-pipe for f-bodies. X and H pipes require true dual exhaust which f-bodies do not have unless you make it so. For a dual set up look into Bassani or Texas Speed and Performance or do it yourself.
Exhaust rating by flow:
SLP, Corsa, Borla (adjustable) all at the very top. All are basically straight flow through style whether bullet or muffler.
Magnaflow not very far below
Way at the bottom is flowmaster (because of chambered crossflow design), still sounds great and is cheap
Exhaust rating by sound really depends upon your set up. go to ls1sounds.com and listen to all of them and for gods sake read what myself and many others have been saying about all the different types of exhaust with different set ups in other threads. i think you would have a much better understanding of the subtle differences between them and certainly what not to do.

A second to what The Scientist had to say to you. However, I have a note of my own to add. Go with custom duals made for your car at your local muffler shop with both pipes going down the passangers side, over the axle, on through straight through, noise cancelling mufflers (one placed on each side of the rear tub) with both pipes exiting out from beneath the rear bumper in their stock location. I also suggest that you leave the catalytic convertors on the car. The cats. keep the exhaust system legal and they also help hold the loudness down.
