Exhaust
I know you guys have covered this 1,000 times, but lets do it agian.
I have heard too many things about SLP, from this site and from a friend of mine to consider buying them. At first i wanted some LMs but i guess not.
(yes, i dont have an ls1 yet, but i get my 10k loan in april )
So i ask the question of what headers to catback are for me.... (m6)
1) i want a nice rumble at idol
2) i want a mean as hell sounding exhaust when reving.. i want it to be loud as hell, but not to the point of annoyance.
3) i want a great flowing exhuast of course.
I have heard that magnaflow/hookers/ory and flowmaster and all good, but what is the best match .. (ie. headers---> catback... also how much is the setup gonna be)
My buddie has a 1970 bird and wants me to get something called like dynatech that has a quick release Y-pipe. ( anyone know anything about them)
My dad says i should get true duels with a H-pipe... is it worth going though all the trouble to do that?
In the future after exhaust i want to get an ls6 intake/hurst shifter/subframe connecters... basically a bunch of bolt-ons.. I dont know when, but i am pretty sure i want to go internal and put some nice H/C on it.
Last thing... with any exhaust how hard is it and what is the process of runing open headers? like how hard is it to take off your Y-pipe?
I lied.. this last thing... What is the difference between the long tube headers and short? I know the long have better clearence but what else is the difference

I still like the Magnaflow catback with LT's.
If you go duals...go with an X-pipe. Hard part is making it over the axle. And it gets expensive to do that.
Avoid Flowmaster.
If you plan on staying with the stock exhaust manifolds the Loudmouth is a good choice. But you may regret it in the long run if you get headers and mod the motor.

i think you should be asking questions if/when mom and dad allow you to even own or mod an ls1.
