    Electronic Cutouts - where and how many

    I have to pass emissions in middle TN and I don't plan on doing any modding beyond cai and a tune.

    I was debating a catback vs cutouts mostly for sound quality and have pretty much decided on cutouts for the greatly reduced cost and the ability to go back to stock sound on the many trips between here and Knoxville.

    My two questions are how many should I get on the true dual and where should they be mounted for maximum hp gain/sound quality? Seems like on the old LS1 T/A it was mounted more or less under the front passenger seat but that was 10 years ago and I don't know if any thinking has changed on that.

    If you have true duals I don't see how you could get by with anything less then 2? Here is my setup, 3" true duals with DMH electric cutouts.

    A comment to the effect of "why would you use more than one cutout" was made about my generation of V, I've never heard of that on a true dual either, but I didn't know if it would make a huge difference or not.

    I'm not exactly sure how your exhaust is laid out but if it's true duals you'll need 2. After that you have to decide how loud you want it as to whether you want them before the cats or after. Not sure if you even have room before the cats.
