    EGR Go Bye Bye...

Hi, I'm not a mechanic. I have a '00 Z and would like to know what gains I can get from ripping the EGR out and blocking off everything? Any bad stuff to worry about besides inspection and the SES light? Thanks...

Nothing bad if you get it tuned out.

Alright man, what's so great about doing something like this? Besides it freeing up engine bay space?

It is a little less restrictive of the air going in to the intake and like you said frees up some engine bay space.

Well I can always just cut down the EGR pipe coming in from above the intake manifold to unblock the air path coming in from the TB. Would that unrestrict it as much as removing the entire EGR?

You won't gain anything from removing the EGR, it just cleans up the engine bay a little bit. You will fail emissions if you do not have it tuned out of the computer.

Agreed. Disabling the EGR won't give you anything as far as performance gains... it will just unclutter the engine bay.

For EGR? You'd need to block the hole in the intake manifold (or get an LS6) and then the hole in the exhaust manifold.
