Egr/air delete?
Hey everyone.. I'm going to be getting my headers put on soon, they are race style with no emissions. My car is a 99', is it required that i delete the EGR and AIR? is "deleting" them the same as getting a block off plate for them? If so, where does one get some block off plates? man this stuffs confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!

technically you are "deleting the Air/EGR because you are getting rid of the actual systems. However, If you do have them deleted in the computer by a tuner than you will throw codes. I have had my air/egr off for close to a year w/o getting the codes deleted and it still runs fine. Its just if you want to see a SES light or not.

When the shop installed mine they went in the computer and deleted it as part of the install. I got the LS6 intake done at the same time and that has no egr. But you can buy the plates from most places that sell headers. Try one of the site sponsors and if not I think WS6store.com has them.

You require no plates since the headers are "race style."
You will require this 12 dollar GM part for the ls1 intake.
and you also will require a tune to get your SES light off.
Frost does full mail order tunes for 125 bucks
