Save your money and have a local exhaust shop make it for you, its really easy. All they need is pipe and a bender. I can't justify 200 dollars for something I can make in 15 min.

You can but you would want to run a X or a H pipe after the headers if your not making lots of hp you'll lose some torque and it will feel sluggish in lower rpms

You can go x- pipe instead of the y-pipe. You won't lose that much in the low rpm's and the gain up top will be worth it. That's considered a true dual set-up. More power and it will sound really good.

I would buy a y pipe and not use what you linked to. If you want to go true duals though I have a set of LPP true duals that are sitting in my garage if you want them. You can remove the egr and air components but remember to get block off plates for your headers and intake.

Buying a y pipe from another manufacturer other than the one that made your headers is a gamble. When I got my Ebay headers, everyone on LS1 Tech was saying the Texas Speed Y pipe would fit. Well I bought one and it wasn't even close. I had my exhaust guy modify it and this is what we had to do to make it fit. Good luck.

so with the magnaflow union that i linked, couldnt i just buy that and then have the muffler shop make the pipes that go from there to the headers? wouldnt that be cheaper still than taking a chance on buying a y pipe that doesnt fit, and still having to have the muffler shop modify it? also, what size is the factory pipe after the y-pipe?

I too got a set of ebay headers for christams, I already have a 2.5" slp y pipe so I hope it fits, but chances are it's going to need to be worked on by a muffler shop. If i were you I wouldn't worry too much. Shouldn't cost much to have a shop mess with it.
